Principal’s Message
We Could Not Survive Without Our Greenspun Teachers!!!
Despite all the planning, every school year brings unexpected challenges. This school year, Greenspun is facing a teacher shortage. We currently have four unexpected vacancies - one in eighth grade math, two in seventh and eighth grade social studies, and one in our autism program.
We are interviewing qualified candidates and have been able to hire one social studies and one autism teacher. They are in the process of completing the final CCSD hiring requirements and should be able to take their place as a teacher on our campus between two to four weeks.
In addition, one of our English and Spanish classes have long term substitutes until our two teachers return from leave in September. Our goal is to be fully staffed as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, it is with heartfelt gratitude that I give a shout out to our amazing, wonderful, outstanding Greenspun teachers. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe them. Although they are overwhelmed with new curriculum, CCSD expectations, and the preparation of meaningful lessons to ensure student learning in their own classrooms, they are also spending endless hours to provide an education to classes without teachers.
Our Greenspun teachers have gone above and beyond to work as a team, and I can not thank them enough. Please show them the support they deserve because they are a group of humans who care about your children, and they are providing them the best education possible, despite the obstacles.
As the adage goes, “They are giving it their all,” and I just want them to know how much they are appreciated.
Events & Honors:
School Performance Plan Act 1: Greenspun JHS School Performance Plan is viewable on the school’s website by clicking on the "Plans of Operation" icon. The plan identifies goals, measurable objectives, and action steps designed to increase the achievement of all students. Annual plans are prepared in compliance with the Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 385.357.
Herbicide Application: CCSD Operational Services Division will spray herbicide in the school’s parking lot and the bussing area around the trees on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Neither students nor staff are expected to be exposed to volatile organic compounds. If you have questions or require additional information, please contact Landscaping & Grounds at 702-799-8724.
Congressional App Challenge: Do you want to create a game? Do you want to create an app to solve a problem? There is no limit to what you can create for the Congressional App Challenge. Chromebooks: At this time, ALL students at Greenspun JHS should have a school-issued Chromebook. If your child does not yet have a Chromebook checked out from Greenspun, please ensure that you have completed the 2023-2024 Chromebook Guidelines Agreement form on our website, and encourage your child to visit the library ASAP to check out a Greenspun Chromebook. Personal laptops and Chromebooks are not allowed to be used on our campus, due to the fact that we are not able to support, troubleshoot, monitor, nor secure personal electronic devices on campus. If students need any assistance with their Chromebook or account information, please visit the Chromebooks page of our website, or visit the Chromebook Help Desk in room 302 with a pass from a teacher.

Boba Fridays! Get your Boba Fix during all three lunches every Friday to support your Greenspun Robotics Program! Indulge in delicious 20-ounce Boba teas available for just $5 during lunch on Fridays. Choose from mouth watering flavors like Oreo Bubble, Strawberry Bubble, or Ube. Enjoy this refreshing Friday treat and help us fund our robotics program.
Color guard: Looking for a fun and exciting after school program? Color guard could be for you.
Birthday Greetings: Do you want an easy and fun way to celebrate your child's birthday at school? For $15, we will display a short message on the outdoor digital marquee to help celebrate the day. Additionally, a bag of treats and a personalized birthday card will be delivered to your child during the school day. All funds raised help support Greenspun clubs and activities. Attendance Office: Please be sure to submit your child’s absences within 3 days by going to the Attendance Icon and filling out the form.
Infinite Campus Parent portal/Student portal: Parents, please continue to monitor your child’s grades in Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need an activation code, please contact the office for assistance.
