WIDA testing begins Jan. 25

Students who are designated as ELL are scheduled to participate in the yearly spring administration of the WIDA ACCESS for ELLs assessment to determine their progress in English language acquisition. The WIDA ACCESS for ELLs is a standardized language proficiency assessment that measures each student's ability to communicate in English. The assessment has four parts: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In the state of Nevada, a student is considered proficient when they receive an overall composite score of 4.5 or higher. This is a federally-mandated assessment that ELL students must complete. This test is ONLY for those students who are designated as ELL (English Language Learner).

The WIDA testing schedule is as follows: Jan 25-26: Last name A - B Jan 27-28: Last name C - F Feb. 1-2: Last name G - I Feb. 3-4: Last name K - N Feb. 8-9: Last name P - R Feb. 10-11: Last name S - Z

Students report to the library on their testing days, and will test from 8am - 11am each day. The testing schedule is also posted in the library windows for students to review their testing times.
