Principal’s Message
Dealing with unexpected challenges is a test of one’s character, and the past two weeks, both students and staff had no idea that they would sign into their Google accounts and see the “Access Denied” message flash across their screens.
As they frantically made several unsuccessful attempts to sign in, Panic and Frustration lurked behind them chanting gleefully, “Ha Ha, Ha - No Google, no Canvas, no emails - now what are you going to do?”
“Let me answer that question,” the teachers replied as they whipped out their materials and began teaching LIKE IT WAS 1999. Notes on the board, pencils and paper on hand, the teachers kept teaching, and the students continued to learn as they engaged in activities free from technology.
Both students and teachers halted Panic and Frustration in their tracks as they demonstrated their ability to overcome an unexpected challenge. In true superhero fashion, they turned “Access Denied” into “We’ve Got This,” as they successfully immersed themselves into the old-school world of 1999!

Technology Update: All student passwords should be reset at this time, and all students should be able to access their coursework in Canvas. Students should reset their passwords again at myaccount.ccsd.net as soon as possible to ensure that they have access to Infinite Campus Portal, and also to ensure that their account remains activated. If students do not reset their passwords at myaccount.ccsd.net, their accounts may be inactivated by CCSD.
Safe Routes to School: Parents, please take a moment and complete the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) survey regarding your students' mode of travel to and from school. The survey is for parents with students in grades K-12. If you have more than one child in the Clark County School District (CCSD), attending the same school, please complete one survey only for the eldest student in each school. The survey asks you to check areas that affected your decision to allow your child to walk/bike to school. With this information, we are able to advance the safety education programs we bring to the schools and improve areas along walking/bike routes to your child's school. The survey will only take a moment and does not ask for any names, however, there is a place for comments at the bottom. Surveys are due no later than November 22, 2023. CLICK HERE for the survey!
Cheer: The Greenspun varsity cheerleaders are hosting a pancake breakfast at Applebee's on Sunset and Stephanie on November 12 from 8am to 10am. The cost is $10 per person. The cheerleaders will be the hosts and servers for the event. Please see Ms. Hood, Mrs. Zuniga, or any cheerleader to purchase tickets.

Participants will explore a variety of technology related career opportunities such as graphic design, information technology management, digital photography, engineering, animation, and more. Students will attend these sessions and participate in hands-on activities to help build their confidence and familiarity with technology and STEM careers. Lunch will also be provided for the students. This event will take place on November 17, 2023, from approximately 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at SECTA High School. If you are interested please contact the 8th Grade Counselor at murdon@nv.ccsd.net. We will be limited to 30 students, so participation will be based on order of students’ response.
