Events & Honors:

Districtwide Survey: The annual Districtwide Survey for parents/guardians and students is open from Monday, October 30, 2023, through Friday, December 15, 2023. The survey is intended to provide information for Clark County School District (CCSD) and schools regarding progress toward CCSD priorities and to comply with the requirements of the Board of School Trustees and the Nevada Department of Education. The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is a vital part of CCSD’s annual self-assessment.

  • The required participation rate threshold is a minimum of 75 percent of all eligible survey takers, which includes all students in Grades 4 through 12.

  • Any parent/guardian with children in the school can take the survey.

  • Please note that the survey is to be completed by students in Grades 4 through 12. To access the Student Survey, students must enter their student ID number and birthdate to complete the survey. Students must complete more than half of the survey to count as a participant.

Progress Reports: Progress Reports for the 2nd Quarter will be submitted November 10th. All assignments must be turned in by Wednesday, November 8th. Check Infinite Campus for any missing assignments or retake opportunities. Assignments for this grading period will not be accepted after Wednesday, November 8th.

Basketball Tryouts: Attention all students interested in playing basketball If you are planning to try out for the Greensun Basketball team you must create an account at aktivate.com. All participants should bring proper shoes, shorts, or sweats and something for rehydration.

Robotics: This weekend, your robotics teams competed in the Bloodcurdling Bots Halloween Robotics Competition at Basic High School, and once again, their hard work has made Greenspun proud. Teams A, Y, and C made it to the finals round. Team Y showed true team spirit and won the TEAM COSTUME AWARD. Team A won the BUILD AWARD for the most durably built robot. Finally, TEAM B won one of the top awards at the event, the DESIGN AWARD, recognizing the team’s ability to document and explain their engineering design process through their notebook and team interview. This award qualified them for the Create US Open in Iowa, where they will join team A who have already qualified. This is the first time Greenspun will be represented at this prestigious event. We are off to a strong season, and we cannot wait to see what they all do next. GO DOLPHINS!

STUCO Petober: Thank you for supporting Student Council's Petober Donation Drive benefiting the Nevada SPCA. We had over 375 donations of cat food, dog food, peanut butter, toys, soap, bunny supplies, and more. Some members of student council were able to drop off all the items our Greenspun families donated to the shelter. They learned how shelters survive on donations, adoptions, fosters and volunteers from our community.

Drama Club: Congratulations to our talented drama club students: A. Roderick, June Ransom, and Hailey Leonard, who've earned a spot in Nevada Conservatory Theatre's world-premiere and reimagined wacky musical production of Cinderella at UNLV! Your hard work and dedication have paid off!

Technology Update: All student passwords should be reset at this time, and all students should be able to access their coursework in Canvas. Students should reset their passwords again at myaccount.ccsd.net as soon as possible to ensure that they have access to Infinite Campus Portal, and also to ensure that their account remains activated. If students do not reset their passwords at myaccount.ccsd.net, their accounts may be inactivated by CCSD.

Safe Routes to School: Parents, please take a moment and complete the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) survey regarding your students' mode of travel to and from school. The survey is for parents with students in grades K-12. If you have more than one child in the Clark County School District (CCSD), attending the same school, please complete one survey only for the eldest student in each school. The survey asks you to check areas that affected your decision to allow your child to walk/bike to school. With this information, we are able to advance the safety education programs we bring to the schools and improve areas along walking/bike routes to your child's school. The survey will only take a moment and does not ask for any names, however, there is a place for comments at the bottom. Surveys are due no later than November 22, 2023. CLICK HERE for the survey!

Cheer: The Greenspun varsity cheerleaders are hosting a pancake breakfast at Applebee's on Sunset and Stephanie on November 12 from 8am to 10am. The cost is $10 per person. The cheerleaders will be the hosts and servers for the event. Please see Ms. Hood, Mrs. Zuniga, or any cheerleader to purchase tickets.

SECTA Field Trip Opportunity Nov. 17: Greenspun JHS is excited to announce an opportunity for our 8th Grade females to visit SECTA. SECTA has partnered with Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department of the Clark County School District to promote #GirlsinSTEM, an event providing middle school girls with technology and STEM experiences as they relate to current in-demand careers in Nevada. Participants will explore a variety of technology related career opportunities such as graphic design, information technology management, digital photography, engineering, animation, and more. Students will attend these sessions and participate in hands-on activities to help build their confidence and familiarity with technology and STEM careers. Lunch will also be provided for the students. This event will take place on November 17, 2023, from approximately 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at SECTA High School. If you are interested please contact the 8th Grade Counselor at murdon@nv.ccsd.net. We will be limited to 30 students, so participation will be based on order of students’ response.

Birthday Greetings: Do you want an easy and fun way to celebrate your child's birthday at school? For $15, we will display a short message on the outdoor digital marquee to help celebrate the day. Additionally, a bag of treats and a personalized birthday card will be delivered to your child during the school day. All funds raised help support Greenspun clubs and activities. CLICK HERE to submit a birthday greeting for your child!

Infinite Campus Parent portal/Student portal: Parents, please continue to monitor your child’s grades in Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need an activation code, please contact the office for assistance.

SafeVoice: SafeVoice is an anonymous tip report system with live response 24/7/365. Safevoice (SV) includes and goes beyond bullying to create an anonymous way to also report threats of school violence and friends at risk of suicide, self-harm, drugs and more. CLICK HERE to submit a report
