Principal’s Message

Jackie Carducci GJHS Principal

How many of us stop and think about the reason we celebrate federal holidays? To many of our students, the significance of the holiday is a break from school. However, as adults, it is our responsibility to teach our students the true meaning behind each holiday.

As we begin our three day weekend to celebrate Veterans Day on Nov. 11, it is important to remember that it is more than just a break from school.

It is a special day in honor of our veterans - “individuals who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable,” as Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations explains. It is a special day to give extra recognition to these selfless individuals.

On behalf of the Greenspun Junior High School Staff, a special thank you to our veterans who have served our country, although I know that those two words are not nearly enough to encompass the magnitude of your service and sacrifice. We truly appreciate you!!!

The survey is for parents with students in grades K-12. If you have more than one child in the Clark County School District (CCSD), attending the same school, please complete one survey only for the eldest student in each school. The survey asks you to check areas that affected your decision to allow your child to walk/bike to school. With this information, we are able to advance the safety education programs we bring to the schools and improve areas along walking/bike routes to your child's school. The survey will only take a moment and does not ask for any names, however, there is a place for comments at the bottom. Surveys are due no later than November 22, 2023. CLICK HERE for the survey!
