Principal’s Message:

If only I could stand on a mountaintop and shout loud enough for the whole world to hear how amazing our Greenspun students are, it would be the first thing I would do each day. As the year comes to a close, I dedicate this message to our kids for their fantastic accomplishments.
Robotics
Our superb Greenspun Robotics Team made history by becoming the first team from Nevada to win the prestigious Excellence Award, which is the top honor, at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship. This is the largest robotics competition in the world, hosting top teams from all 50 states and 70 nations. The students earned the most outstanding overall performance in all areas of the competition, including engineering design, notebook documentation, interviews, and coding and driving skills. In addition, their coach and teacher, Casey Juliano, was named this year’s VEX Robotics World Championship Inspiration ALL Star and was inducted into the STEM Hall of Fame.
Cheer
The Greenspun Cheerleaders, under the leadership of head coach, Page Zuniga, and assistants Timeeka Cooks and Brittany Cowen, also had an amazing season. They remained undefeated as they captured four championships in four prestigious cheer competitions. They earned the titles of USA Regional Champions and National Cheer Champions, as well as the Jamz National Championship and the Spirit of the West Grand Champions. All season long, their performances exemplified perfection and wowed their audiences with their difficult stunts, pyramids, and routines.
Performing Arts
Likewise, the Performing Arts programs wowed their audiences as they played intricate pieces of music throughout the year at festivals and concerts. Under the direction of David Martinez and his assistant Jordan Miller, all of the bands, from beginning to advanced, received Superior ratings at every festival. In addition, the Wind Symphony received Straight Superior Plus Ratings at the CCSD Advanced Festival. They were one of only four schools in the district to achieve this, while the Jazz Band received two superior ratings and a Superior Plus, one of only three schools to achieve this honor.
The Beginning and Advanced Treble Choirs, as well as the Madrigal singers, directed by Heather Scobie, also received superior ratings in their on stage performances, as well as in sight reading, while the Concert Choir was awarded with a Superior Plus. The Greenspun Orchestra, directed by Sheila Davis, added to the accolades by also receiving straight Superior ratings at all of their festivals. In addition, they won an original commissioned piece at The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois.
Both our band and choir students swept Honor Groups in Nevada. Eight choir students were selected for ACDA CCSD Middle School Honor Choir, and 13 students were selected for the NV ACDA All-State Middle School Choir, while the Greenspun Bands had more students selected to participate in Honor Ensembles than any other school in our state.
As I reflect on these remarkable accomplishments, it is easy to see why our Greenspun students are extraordinary. From Robotics, Cheer, and Performing Arts to academics, sports and other extracurricular activities, our kids shine in every area.
Thank you, students, for inspiring me every single day. You make me proud to be your principal, and that is why I would stand on a mountaintop, if I could, and shout loud enough for the whole world to hear how amazing you are!!!
