Dear Parents and Families,

I am so excited to invite you to our upcoming Open House! This evening is always one of my favorites because it gives us the chance to come together as a school community.

You’ll be able to connect with your child’s teachers, visit their classrooms, and get a glimpse of the wonderful learning experiences ahead this year. This special evening is also an opportunity for you to gain valuable insight into how your children can be successful in each of their classes.

Open House is a time for us to connect and build strong partnerships. When families and schools work together, amazing things happen for our students—and your support makes all the difference.

We look forward to welcoming you and working together to create a positive, engaging, and successful school year. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community.

Events & Honors:

Open House: Greenspun Junior High School Open House will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The program will begin in the school’s gymnasium with the principal’s welcome and introductions following performing arts presentations. DonutNV food truck will be available with  fresh donuts and lemonade. You will have the opportunity to visit your student’s classes beginning at 6:35pm.

Note: The evening will consist of an abbreviated class schedule, which will give you an opportunity to meet each of your child’s teachers. There will be time built in for a few parent questions, but we request that you not engage the teacher in a parent/teacher conference at this time. Parent/teacher conferences are an important part to building a strong relationship for the success of your child. Please arrange a time by calling the school or emailing the teacher directly.

Greenspun JHS Cheerleading Tryouts: Calling all Flippers! Greenspun Junior High School cheerleading tryouts for the 2025-2026 season will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025. All students are welcome to try out! Important Requirements for Middle School Athletes:

  • All student-athletes must have a current sports physical completed and on file prior to trying out.

  • The physical must be signed by a doctor within the past 12 months and remain valid throughout the sports season.

  • The Clark County School District (CCSD) and Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) require a complete physical examination every two years.

  • Physicians must complete the NIAA physical examination forms, which are available for download online or from the school's athletic office.

  • Students must also register online at RegisterMyAthlete.com prior to tryouts and provide their health insurance information.

  • According to Clark County School District, middle school athletes must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician.

  • CCSD policy states that physicals are good for one year.

  • Student-athletes need to provide their accident and health insurance information, as CCSD does not provide insurance coverage for injuries.
