Principal’s Message
GJHS PROUD!
I would like to thank all of you who attended Greenspun’s 23-24 Open House. We believe that parental involvement is important, and we were excited to see such a wonderful turnout.
We appreciate your support in your children’s educational journey. And, even if you were unable to attend, we understand because we know that our Greenspun parents show up in many ways throughout the year.
A special thanks goes to our dedicated staff and our wonderful performers last night. As I listened to our amazing performing arts students and watched our award-winning cheerleaders, it was a reminder of just how talented our students are.
Whether they are playing a sport, programming robots, hosting spirit days, or excelling in academics…their accomplishments are limitless, and I am GJHS PROUD!!!
Events & Honors:
Panorama Student Survey: Thank you for being incredible partners in educating our children. Building our social-emotional learning skills is an essential goal for our school, and we look forward to working together this school year. We will ask your child to reflect on their mindsets and approaches to learning via an online survey they will complete during science class. The survey shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.
The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on their positive feelings, challenging feelings, supportive relationships, and how they view themselves as learners.
We ask that all of our students participate in the surveys, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our school’s response to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel they have enough information to answer a question, they can skip the item altogether. The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential. Scholastic Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to GJHS August 31 through September 8! ALL proceeds fund the prizes and incentives for Reading Achievement at Greenspun. Please visit the Library website for more information, and volunteer sign-ups!
Progress Reports: The first Progress Reports will be uploaded on September 8th. That means all missing or late assignments must be turned in by Wednesday, September 6th. Late assignments will not be accepted after Wednesday, September 6th. Check Infinite Campus to see if you have any missing assignments. Let's Go Dolphins!
Colorguard: Color Guard tryouts are on September 26 and 27th. You can grab an audition packet from the back office. The audition packet must be completely filled out and turned in by Tuesday 9/26/2023 to be able to try out on 9/27/2023. You will need to get a physical before Tuesday 9/26/2023 so plan accordingly.
Dolphin Days: Dolphin Days on Friday September 8th. Clubs will be selling snack items from $1 to $3 during lunch. Cash will be the only form of payment accepted.
Fine Arts Fundraiser: The Fine Arts Department kicks off their fundraising campaign at Greenspun next week!
Birthday Greetings: Do you want an easy and fun way to celebrate your child's birthday at school? For $15, we will display a short message on the outdoor digital marquee to help celebrate the day. Additionally, a bag of treats and a personalized birthday card will be delivered to your child during the school day. All funds raised help support Greenspun clubs and activities. Attendance Office: Please be sure to submit your child’s absences within 3 days by going to the Attendance Icon and filling out the form.
Infinite Campus Parent portal/Student portal: Parents, please continue to monitor your child’s grades in Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need an activation code, please contact the office for assistance.
School Organizational Team: Nominations for the 2023-2024 Greenspun JHS SOT are open until Sunday, September 3rd. If you would like to volunteer to be a member, or if you would like to nominate someone, please visit the SOT page of our website.
