Greenspun Officially Designated as a Purple Star School

On April 1, 2026, Greenspun Junior High School held a historic ceremony in the gymnasium to officially celebrate our designation as a Purple Star School. This prestigious honor recognizes our school’s unwavering commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families through specialized programs and a welcoming community.

We were honored to have the Castilliano Family share their personal experiences as a military family, highlighting the vital importance of this recognition.

The highlight of the afternoon was the official presentation of the Purple Star banner and certificates by Nevada State Superintendent Victor Wakefield. Superintendent Wakefield shared inspiring words about Greenspun's leadership in educational excellence and support for military families across Nevada.

This designation belongs to our entire community—the teachers who provide stability, the students who welcome new classmates with open arms, and the families who sacrifice so much for our nation. We are proud to be a Purple Star School and remain dedicated to ensuring every student who walks through our doors feels seen, valued, and supported.
