Celebrating the Magic of Grandparents at Greenspun

Grandparents’ Day at Greenspun has always been my favorite tradition, and my heart was filled with joy as we welcomed grandparents to Greenspun to make special memories with their grandchildren and to celebrate them for all they do.

I am grateful for every day that my grandmother was in my life. There was nothing better than going on vacation at my grandma’s house as I was growing up. And to this day, my grandmother is always with me in spirit…love, laughter, and special times…those memories are a part of me, each and every day.

And now, I am blessed to be a grandparent of four wonderful grandchildren, and your grandchildren are blessed to have you as part of their lives, as well, because you are special. You have taken that magical role in your grandchildren' s lives because you chose to.

As author Alex Hale stated, “Nobody can do for children what grandparents do. Grandparents sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.”

While browsing in a store one day, I came across the perfect definition of a grandparent as I was looking at posters. The words on the wall shouted proudly,

I am not a babysitter. I am a grandparent. I make the choice to be that special person who strives to make a child feel loved unconditionally -  one special moment at a time - completely free of cost and totally from my heart, I give out of love for my grandchildren.

And, grandchildren, in return, bless us with a love so strong that it can not be broken.

To all you grandparents out there, you are appreciated and loved!! Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Robotics Camp: This past Saturday, the Greenspun Robotics Team proudly hosted a robotics camp for 46 students representing seven elementary schools. Campers spent the morning learning beginning skills in building, coding, and driving, all taught by our very own World Championship team. At Greenspun, our motto is We Are Better Together. We Are Student Powered. We Are Greenspun. These are more than just words; they are the foundation of our legacy of greatness. Our program is built on mentorship and collaboration, and we believe that by lifting up younger students and peers alike, we become stronger together. Giving back runs through our veins, and we are committed not only to developing skilled engineers but also to shaping future leaders. Our campers had a fantastic time diving into hands-on robotics challenges, but our Greenspun mentors may have enjoyed it even more. Sharing their passion with the next generation filled them with pride and purpose, knowing they were inspiring future robotics stars. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents, campers, team members, and administrators who helped make this camp such a success. Keep an eye out for future camp opportunities! If you have any questions about Greenspun Robotics, please feel free to reach out to Robotics coach and teacher Casey Juliano. We look forward to welcoming our campers into the Greenspun Legacy in the years ahead!
