Principal’s Message:

At Greenspun, students shine!
It is so wonderful to see how talented and dedicated our Greenspun students are. One only has to look at the tremendous level of student participation in electives and extra-curricular activities to witness their unending talent, commitment, and school spirit.
This past week alone has been filled with events, and our students were the stars every time. From the band concert to cheer, dance, and both basketball teams, our kids shined and made me proud with their fantastic performances. In addition, our Madrigal Choir shared holiday cheer at Ethel M’s, the GJHS band and Color Guard marched proudly in the Henderson Holiday Parade, and our robotics teams were busy creating projects for The Congressional App Challenge, as well as hosting a tournament for beginning robotic students across CCSD.
That’s just one productive week of many in the lives of students at GJHS. In a time when it’s easy for kids to get distracted by endless cell phone messages and social media, many of our students are making wiser choices. It is truly inspiring to see them choose activities that help them grow, connect, and become well-rounded individuals.
I am so proud of them! I am also grateful to our families, staff, and community members for their commitment to our students and programs. It is the unwavering support of the Greenspun community that helps us to provide a learning environment where students can shine,
Events & Honors:
Congressional App Challenge: On Friday evening, three groups of Greenspun students were recognized for their incredible hard work in creating projects for the Congressional App Challenge, a national academic competition for middle and high school students designed to promote innovation in STEM. Participants were tasked with developing an app or digital design on a platform of their choice, then submitting a video showcasing their idea, implementation, and the potential impact of their creation. I am so proud of our three teams— seven outstanding students who were celebrated by Congresswoman Dina Titus and Nevada’s 1st Congressional District. I am especially thrilled to share that out of the 22 high school and middle school students who participated in one of our middle school teams, Jaxon Kolman and Luke Regan received an Honorable Mention for their program, which was designed both for fun and as a tool to help individuals with motor challenges improve reaction time and one-to-one correspondence. I always say robot kids are the best kids, and these seven truly proved that once again. They stepped outside their comfort zones and contributed something creative, innovative, and meaningful to the digital world. Congratulations to them all. Go Dolphins! — Ms. Juliano
Spelling Bee Finals: The Clark County Spelling Bee finals will be held and filmed for later broadcast at the Vegas PBS KLVX Studios on Wednesday, December 10.
