Principal’s Message:

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Crossing Guards
Each day—rain or shine, in the cold or intense heat—our crossing guards stand outside before and after school to direct traffic and help our students cross the street safely. Their presence is vital, and I’d like to take this moment to honor them and acknowledge the meaningful work they do. We are truly grateful for their diligence, dedication, and the care they show in keeping our children safe.
As I express my appreciation on behalf of our school community, I also want to remind our students how important it is to treat our crossing guards with respect. Crossing guards are here to protect our children from avoidable traffic accidents so listening to their directions helps keep everyone safe.
Parents, I ask for your support in reinforcing this message at home. Please encourage your children to follow the crossing guards’ instructions and to be courteous in their interactions with them. Even a simple “thank you” can brighten their day and show that they are valued. Together, we can make sure our crossing guards feel respected and supported as they continue looking out for our children each day.

PSAT8: Greenspun JHS is extremely proud to congratulate 8th grader Christopher Karsaz for earning a perfect score of 1440 on the PSAT 8/9 exam! Five middle school students in CCSD scored a perfect score, including Chris! Chris said that the test was difficult, but that he wanted to do his best, so he took his time answering all of the questions. He explained that when he received his score, he was actually surprised to see that he had scored a perfect 1440! All 8th graders will receive their PSAT scores in their mathematics classes during the week of Dec. 15-19. For more information about the PSAT 8/9, and a guide for parents, please visit greenspunjhs.com/assessment. Robotics: International Volunteer Day + Our Newbie Robotics Tournament. Last Saturday, December 6, Greenspun Robotics hosted our annual “Newbie” Tournament…our give-back event where experienced students mentor brand-new robotics teams and coaches through their very first competition. Robotics events run entirely on volunteers, and each tournament requires 10+ hours of dedicated time from refs, judges, scorers, queuers, field reset, emcees, concessions, and so many more. We simply couldn’t do this without them.
This year our robotics community has gone above and beyond:
800+ student volunteer hours
600+ hours from former high school robotics students
200+ parent volunteer hours
350+ hours from Coach Juliano
Our program receives no district funding, yet these kids continue to give back, mentor others, and help grow robotics in Nevada. If you’d like to show them you’re proud of their leadership and dedication, please consider supporting our fundraiser. Every donation directly impacts our students and keeps this program strong. CLICK HERE to donate! Thank you for supporting student leadership, mentorship, and the future of STEM. We are Better Together. We are Student Powered. We are Greenspun! —Ms. Juliano Robotics Teacher/Coach
