A Glimpse of Greenspun Greatness

After nearly two months of school, it is easy to see how amazing our Greenspun students are. From the flag football and cross country teams, who literally practice and play in blazing heat and rain-soaked fields, to our students demonstrating growth in both content areas and electives, these kids continue to impress me.

I invite you to celebrate these wonderful young humans with me and thank them for setting such a positive tone for the 25-26 school year. For those of you who haven’t had the chance to witness Greenspun Greatness, I invite you to take a walk with me to see just how wonderful these kids are!

My walk begins as soon as I enter school each morning, and a group of students pleasantly greet me and wish me a good day. Walking past the 600 hall, the choir, band, and orchestra delight me as they fill the air with a beautiful blend of music. Moving on, I glance into the gym to see students eagerly participating in a competitive game of sports.

Then, I walk by the library and love seeing a room full of students exploring books and engaging in the many activities it has to offer. Next, I head into the ELA, math, science, and social studies hallways, where students are involved in class discussions and analyzing research to craft their Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning statements. As I enter the 200 hallway, I am continually amazed by the award-winning robotic students as they design and build robots on a whole new level.

But, wait. The walk does not end when the dismissal bell rings, as evidenced by our hard-working athletes, cheerleaders, dance team, and color guard preparing for upcoming competitions. In addition, there are those dedicated students participating in after school organizations, like Student Council, Hope Squad, and a multitude of clubs.

These are just a few of the many examples of Greenspun Greatness that you will experience if you take a walk with me through our amazing school. Each hallway, classroom, and practice space reflects the hard work and dedication of our students. I am so  proud of them and look forward to witnessing their continued greatness this year.
